This breakthrough featured standout contributions from players like Jorginho, Luís Mata, and the penalty-saving hero—the backup goalkeeper—as highlighted by Spanish media.

Their upcoming group-stage campaign promises challenging fixtures, including potential matchups with Real Madrid, Arsenal, Sporting CP, among others—marking the longest travel distances in Champions League history.

Kairat’s participation signals not only sporting success but also the growing recognition of Central Asia in European football circles.

The 2025 pre-season saw strategic reinforcements with new signings including Jorginho, Dan Glazer, Edmilson, Ricardinho, and Yerkin Tapalov—indicating the club’s ambition to strengthen for European challenges.

Kairat’s youthful and diverse squad, combined with growing continental exposure, positions them for enhanced competitiveness on both domestic and European stages.
