Ile Alatau National Park is a pristine expanse of the Northern Tien Shan Mountains, located just south of Almaty. Encompassing alpine meadows, dense forests, glacial lakes, and rugged peaks, the park is a protected haven for Kazakhstan’s most beautiful mountain landscapes. Each day includes moderate to strenuous trekking, typically ranging from 5 to 7 hours per day. The pace is steady but not rushed, allowing ample time to:

Adjust to the altitude
Rest at scenic viewpoints and natural landmarks
Trekkers should be in reasonable physical shape. The terrain includes alpine meadows, forest trails, rocky paths, and glacier crossings. Your guide ensures a safe pace suitable for all levels of experienced hikers.

Do I need to be an experienced hiker?
Not necessarily. While the trek includes some challenging sections, anyone in good health with a basic level of fitness can participate. Previous hiking experience is a plus.
How high will we go?
The maximum elevation is approximately 3,850 meters at the high mountain pass on Day 4. Altitude acclimatization is built into the itinerary.
Are meals included?
Yes. All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are provided during the trek. Expect nourishing and hearty food, including warm breakfasts, picnic lunches, and hot dinners at camp.
What’s the sleeping arrangement?
You’ll stay in high-quality tents with sleeping bag and mattress at scenic campsites. Tents are shared unless you request a single supplement. We will provide all than camping staffs.
Is luggage carried for me?
Yes. A support vehicle or pack Horses will carry your larger luggage on certain days. You’ll only need a daypack during the hikes.
When is the best time to go?
Summer and early autumn (June to early October) offer the best conditions—clear skies, warm days, and cool nights.
